Multiple Intelligences and Techno-tool

Multiple Intelligences and Learning Styles were my long awaited quest and finally I could come across these in this week.  While I was doing my masters’, I had read about Gardner’s multiple intelligences. Even if this was not a part of syllabus, I had read it in “Principles of Language Teaching and Writing” by Larsen Freeman, and it quickly drew my attention and about learning strategies, I had read of Omaley and Chamot’s model but now I came across comprehensive learning.

Sensing and intuitive learners, visual and verbal learners, sequential and global learners are to be identified as per Ricard Felder and yes, I have found it really significant. As per the BBC Learning Styles quiz, there are auditory learners, visual learners, kinesthetic learners, social or emotional learners and meta-cognitive learners. If we identify the types of learners in our classroom, we can select the techno-tool accordingly and work it out in the classroom.

Bringing technology in the classroom will change any ordinary classroom which will make it more live and interesting. Just the thing that should be taken into account is the selection of right techno-tool as per the learners’ interest and their intelligences cum styles. Just do dare to do it.

  1. Dear Sagun,

This has really been an interesting opportunity to learn and make new friends all over the world.
Thank you for everething and all your sharing.

Nepal is a beautiful country, I visited it once over 12 years ago with my husband and son. My son was so little that we didn't go much outside during daytime as my husband was working (with opening a new power station) so usually we went out in the evenings or afternoons. I was on maternity leave at the time so I wanted to join my husband, as I thought it was a once in a lifetime chance to travel to Nepal. Sorry, I didn't mean to begin gossiping here but anyway...

Take care and all the best to you, it would be nice to keep in touch somehow

    greetings from Finland

  2. Dear Sinikka

I am really excited to know that you had once come to Nepal. You are welcome again and this time I can guide you to different places which are historically significant and naturally appealing.

    Have a nice time there.
